Mix #118: Warm Lights

Warm lights

Warm lights are what you see a lot during winter time and I wanted to add some warm beats to that. This mix contains some of the warmest and most beautiful deep house tracks that I haven been listening to lately:

I am especially happy to include the track “Funk Organ” from Ramirez Son whom I interviewed a few weeks ago. It’s clear that this guy has talent.

I also included two tracks that got a lot of radio airplay this year: “Fade Out Lines” from The Avener and Kiesza’s “Hideaway”. Those who read Sweet Headache regularly know that I don’t care a lot about what’s popular. I do think however that those two tracks deserve the limelight and they just fit perfectly to the kind of sound that I wanted for this mix.

One track that really made me smile was “Everybody Does” by Natema. This London-based took the 80s hit “Need You Tonight” by INXS and turned it into a true house anthem. They somehow managed to give it a unique sound while you can still recognize the original.

Tracklist:

  • The Avener – Fade Out Lines (Original Mix)
  • Wankelmut – Wood & Wine
  • Ramirez Son – Funk Organ
  • Eddie Amador – House Music (Robosonic Remix)
  • DJ Pierre – What Is House Muzik (Roland Leesker LoveMix)
  • Hot Since 82 – Like You
  • Natema – Everybody Does
  • Niko Schwind feat. Heartbeat – Perfect Fit (Proud Remix)
  • Kant – Agenda
  • Fabrice Lig – No Judgment (Ian O’Donovan Remix)
  • Kiesza – Hideaway
