Mix #104: “Sun&Bass”

Here’s a new mix for you: Some fresh and sunny Drum&Bass tunes, perfect for the open air season and putting a smile on your face:

I have been a fan of Danny Byrd for quite a while. Actually, my girlfriend introduced me to his sound – it’s just wonderful when your significant other has a great taste in music. 😉 It is hard to not like Danny Byrd’s melodic and positive style. With his recent collaboration with DnB veteran Roni Size, he has certainly shown that he is one of the top players in DnB today. If you haven’t seen the video for “Grit” yet, go check it out!

I have also included DJ Fresh’s single “Hot Right Now” which has already been getting quite some attention lately and even some airplay on mainstream radio stations outside of the UK. He certainly deserves this level of attention for producing great tracks for many years.

Netsky’s “Your Way” has somehow become a small club hit here in Cologne, and I even heard it a few times at non-DnB parties. With its combination of melancholic melodies and high energy, it has become one of my favorite DnB tunes in recent years.

I will be seeing Rudimental next weekend during my visit to the MELT! festival – from what I hear, their live shows are something to remember. I will write more about them when I come back.
