Mix #109: “Wanderlust”

Wanderlust

According to Wikipedia, “Wanderlust is a strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world”. To me, this mix expresses my desire to explore the world of music, in this case the connection between melodic Electro House tunes and melodic Drum&Bass.

As a German, I also find it somewhat amusing that “Wanderlust” (which is originally an old-fashioned German word) has made it in into the English language. 🙂

Anyway, here is the mix:

I had wanted to use Far Too Loud’s “Faster Than Light” for a while already. I know very few tracks that make a transition between Electro House and Drum&Bass, but this one does it perfectly!

When I heard Danny Byrd’s “4th Dimension” for the first time, it immediately reminded me of the Beastie Boys classic “Intergalactic” – and I am sure that this is no coincidence. Still, this track is much more than just a remix and will really blast you into space at the end of the mix.
