Swing United – October 1st 2011 @ Lichtung, Cologne

August 24, 2011 No Comments  Author:

I am currently preparing the second Swing United party with my buddies S-Kreama and Madame Summit. I have written about the first one before, and since everyone enjoyed this first party so much, we simply had to it again.

The idea behind Swing United is that we want to celebrate Swing music in all its forms. We have covered Electro Swing a couple of times here already, and we love this sound so much that we are dedicating an entire dancefloor to it.

Here is a little promo-mix I made so you can see what we will play there:

We will also have a second dancefloor where we will play only classic Swing sounds. For that floor, we are cooperating with HopSpot, a dance school specialized on Lindy Hop. Lindy Hop is the original Swing dance from the 1930s, and if you see this dance, you know that people are having a good time dancing to this.
We are very proud of this concept as it combines the long history of Swing with current club sounds. That means we can get everyone together: Club people, House music lovers, Lindy Hop dancers and connoisseurs of Swing music.
If you are in the area on October 1st, make sure to come!
