Review: “Transnational Dubstep”

I just discovered an exceptional Dubstep compilation: “Transnational Dubstep” concentrates on ethno-influenced Dubstep tunes and tries to give an overview over the whole spectrum. If you have ever wondered what Indian Dubstep or Balkan Dubstep would sound like, this could ease your curiosity.
Apart from this being an interesting idea, this compilation also nicely demonstrates that Dubstep can be so much more than just slow beats and wobbly basses. Many tracks on this compilation are very dynamic and focus more on melody than on basslines. I have seen examples for this pop up earlier, but it’s nice to see that some people seem to be pushing the boundaries a little more here.
