Indian Sitars and Psychedelic Synthlines: Funky Kisses EP

I’d like to post about new releases I enjoy from time to time, and the newest outing on Beatz for Freakz Recordings, a label run by DJ Zeyhan who’s both a friend and DJ colleague of mine, seems like a good starting point.

Last week the label’s fourth release, the Funky Kisses EP, was released digitally in all major download stores, and is worth checking out for anyone interested in the more disco side of electronic music. Included are two originals by DJ Zeyhan and his band, Cosmic Orchestra and a spacey remix by Spanish producer Rayko, who’s already made a name for himself with DJ gigs all around Europe and releases on such renowned labels as Eskimo Recordings.

In my eyes this is definitely one of the more fun recent releases in the field of Nu Disco, which is usually dominated by melancholic spacey numbers, and satisfyingly sticks out against the rest.
